Week 8 - MBA 6101 - Logomaker

For this week's hands-on assignment we were tasked with creating a logo for a company or service that was applicable to us as individuals. For this task, we were supplied with the website www.logomaker.com. Below is the opening user interface you are exposed to upon entering the site:

As seen above, there is a very simplistic, user friendly interface that requires you to type in some key information regarding your industry, company name, and a slogan/tagline. For this example, I populated the information with the following information:

After populating the fields with your desired input, you simply press the orange 'Make a Logo' prompt and the website will take you to another page in which you can decide on a theme/style that you would like your logo to be centred around. Here is an image of the user interface we are presented with:

For my example, I have decided to select the 'Initial, 'Icon and 'Badge' logo styles. You have the option to chose up to 3 therefore will need to restart the process and re-enter your information if you wish to see more than 3 style options. After selecting my logo style - we are prompted to select a font. Here is an look at the user interface for this section:

For my logo, I decided to select the 'Serif', 'Script' and 'Display' font options. After this, we are asked to select a logo layout:

As you can see above, the user interface stays constant throughout the process and offers a real easy of use for individuals looking to utilize this tool. For my example, I have selected 'Icon Above', 'Curved Text' and 'Icon Right'. Upon selection of your choices, we are finally presented with out range of final logo options:

The image above shows a small section of the logos I was offered. After being supplied with all my choices, I was able to easily browse and decide on the one that was most suitable for me. This is the logo I decided on:

Once you have decided on a generated logo, you are taken to an editor in which you are able to easily edit the logo to your hearts desire. There are a range of tools offered so that you can make any slight changes such as font, colour scheme and size. Here's an image of the user interface:

Overall, this is a exceptionally useful tool that can be used to create free logos for businesses that do not have the capital needed to pay for an original design. The process is exceptionally easy and offers a very pleasant experience for the user.
